Staff Spotlight - Graham Parr

We recently had a very pleasant occurrence at DART Tool Group and we just have to share it!

Graham Parr is our in-house ‘Machine Repair Technician’ and if any customers have a problem with their FOX machine (pillar drills, bandsaws, mitre saws, dust extractors, paddle mixers etc), then DART offers the service of collecting the machine and put simply – ‘fixing it’.  Graham is a quiet achiever... well, sort of!  Read on...

At Head Office, we often hear clatters, banging and hammering resonating from Grahams workshop as he swiftly ascertains what the machine problem is and gets to work on mending it – with often incredibly fast turn-arounds.  Never do you hear much else from this diligent gentleman.  He just gets the job done!

So, bearing this in mind, it was wonderful recently when he was sent ahand-written letter of gratitude from a customer (something that so rarely happens in this day and age!), but in addition, an M&S voucher was enclosed and photographs of the customer and his son!It must be noted that Graham has never spoken to this customer – just simply fixed his machine.  However there is even more to this story.

On closer inspection of the facts, the customer had a relatively old woodworking planer in his possession which needed a cog repairing.  It transpired that these parts for the model of machine were no longer available, so Graham Parr (with the help of his son at home) welded a new cog especially to fit the planer.

In the words of the customer "your help and that of your son’s is so much appreciated and it got us through a ‘big hurdle’ at the time"..."thanks again Graham for all your help!  It’s good to know that there are still people around who are willing to help others".
