There has been another addition to the DART Team - William Ness (aka. Bill).  Bill has joined the team as the Internal Sales Manager and he will be working with both the internal sales team and the customer service team to make sure we have a cohesive and aligned team in the office supporting, most importantly, our customers and secondly supporting our external sales team.  Bill will also be working closely with our External Sales Manager to ensure we are focused on on our vision and all pulling in the same direction.

To find out a little more about Bill, and what makes him tick, we asked him to complete our Staff Q&A!  Click here...

1. What is your name?

William Ness, most folks who know me call me Bill but having the surname Ness often meant that some folks would call me Nessie or the Monster or Eliot after Eliot Ness the Federal agent who took down Al Capone.

2. What is your new position at DART?

Internal Sales Manager

3. Where did you work before?

I worked for a Food Supply company in a similar role as at DART and before that as a Customer Service/Sales/Marketing Insight Manager with a Public Transport company.

4. What do you like best about what you do?

Working with people is the best part of my job and helping them to improve their performance. I also enjoy streamlining processes to ensure efficiency and increased performance.

5. How would you describe yourself?

I am passionate and driven and have an incredible thirst for knowledge. I am loving and caring but also assertive and driven. My passion is my family, my Dog, books, football, music and the countryside.

6. What do you do in your free time?

I spend a huge amount of my time with my 9 year old Son Caelan. I have a Border collie, despite getting on in years, still needs lots of activity so we are regularly up the hills and in the woods in and around Fife and Perthshire. Reading is also a huge passion of mine, I tend to read at least one factual and one fiction book a week every week. I am so much a geek that I always carry books in my car and often find myself stopped in a layby reading some random fact that is only of interest to me.

7. What was your favourite subject at school and why?

I loved Physics because it stimulated my brain to think about the physical processes that make up our everyday existence.

8. What is your favourite food?

Indian Food

9. Where is the best place you have visited and why?

I can’t name just one place so I will say both Barcelona and Goa, India. I love football and feel over the past 12 years or so Barcelona Football Club have played the game at a level we have never seen before although they are now coming to the end of a glorious time for the game.

10. What is your favourite saying/quote?

My favourite quote is a verse from a poem by Aldous Huxley he of Brave New World fame. I have always been intrigued by the fact that some of us are born into aristocracy, some of us poor and some us completely average but still some are born with incredible skills of mind or body and shape the world that we know.
