Basic Salary of £30,000 with an OTE of £36,000, Company Vehicle and other Benefits

Job Scope:
Our External Account Managers are a vital part of the success and growth of the DART Tool Group business. This key role will demonstrate the drive, passion and commitment needed to promote the DART Brand through our distribution customers such as Trade Counters and Builders Merchants. You will be responsible for delivering customer support and sales growth to existing Trade customers through effective relationship nurturing and product support. Contributing to the delivery of all sales and profit related targets and ensuring Customers’ needs are met and exceeded. Ensuring the sales strategy is always applied and always looking to deliver a high level of customer service and sales activity.

Your main goals are to deliver exceptional in branch customer service, financial targets and identifying and delivering training to customers when required to assist in driving sales. Calling on both your Regional Business Development Manager and Internal Account Manager to assist you in managing your responsibilities and our customers’ expectations for optimal customer engagement and sales growth.

Headquartered in Kirkcaldy, Scotland and with our Regional Sales Office in Derby, and reporting into the Sales Manager, you will have a supportive team encouraging you to drive results and achieve our Sales objectives.

Our Business is readying itself for Growth and with the addition of further sales regions, we now have an opportunity for a hungry, tenacious and creative External Account Manager to support our Trade customers across our Northern Territory covering the whole of the M62 corridor East to West of the Country.

Our ideal candidate will live within this region for ease of commute and access and will have a proven track record and presence in this area, to facilitate introductions and leverage an existing network and relationships.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and agree an overall sales methodology in line with the Sales Management
  2. Identify opportunities to grow business with existing customers and generate sales among customer accounts, including upsetting and cross-selling and ensuring the development of a sales pipeline.
  3. Operate as the point of contact for assigned customers
  4. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with accounts to ensure growth and development of the account and Customer spend and in line with the Customer Rating System.
  5. Create and maintain Customer Brand loyalty and lock in including introduction of new products.
  6. Ensure Customers receive requested products and services in a timely fashion, including taking orders.
  7. Communicate customer needs and demands to the Sales Manager and other Team stakeholders and at a higher company level.
  8. Forecast and track customer account metrics and create reporting on these.
  9. Manage projects within customer relationships, such as new product launches.
  10. Coordinate and collaborate with team members working on the same account to ensure consistent service
  11. Collaborate with the Sales Team to reach prospective customers and identify and act on opportunities for New Business and prospecting potential customers
  12. Keep records of customer transactions, including call plans and logs and plan appointments based on maximising opportunity.
  13. Work as an integral team member to advance the company’s strategy and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
  14. Contribute to the delivery of the Revenue and Profit budgets for the Region on an annual basis.
  15. Install new stands with staff training in customer premises and support on POS materials.
  16. Provide support for Customer Trade Days and exhibitions

  • Passion and belief in the product and brand
  • Ability to organise and manage time and diary management
  • Outstanding relationship building ability for optimal customer engagement and retention
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting

Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years proven Account Management experience within power tools, electrical contractors, DIY trade counters or related industries
  • Excellent spoken and written English at Business level
  • Clean, current driving licence
  • Effective knowledge of power tools and accessories
  • Ability to travel and make business trips including overnight stays
  • Proficient in IT systems and Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Experience with CRM systems and customer databases
