Top 3 Angle Drivers You Need In 2022

04 March 2022

What is an angle driver?

An Angle Driver is a right-angled 25mm driver and magnetic bit holder that you put into the chuck of your drill to help loosen and tighten screws in the most inaccessible places. It will help you achieve the seemingly impossible (and get you out of some awkward situations). It's your 'Get out of Jail FREE' card for when the fixing you are trying to reach is just out of reach of the drill.

How Do You Use An Angle Driver?

An Angle Driver is straightforward to use – you just insert the hex end directly into your chuck, tighten the chuck, and there you have it; you have access to fixings in the most inaccessible places.

Difference Between a Right-angle Driver and a Right-angle Drill Attachment?

An Angle Driver is different from a right-angle drill attachment. A Right-angled drill attachment is a chuck for a drill – you remove the existing chuck from the drill first, whereas a Right-angle Driver is inserted into the chuck of the drill.

Do Right-angle Drill Attachments Work as Well as a Right-angle Driver?

Mechanically, a right-angle drill attachment works in the same way as a right-angled driver. They will both allow you to drill at a right angle to the drill.

However, they do have different uses. If you are loosening or tightening fixings – your best option is to use a right-Angle Driver. If you are drilling (i.e. with a twist drill bit, SDS+ drill bit etc), you would use a right-angle drill attachment. This is because a Right-angle Driver will only work with ¼" hex shank bits.

Nevertheless, today many accessories manufacturers are investing in a range of ¼" hex shank quick-change bits, and all these will fit into an Angle Driver.
For loosening and tightening fixings, you get a lot more flexibility when using an Angle Driver, especially DART's range, as they are more compact and will allow you to achieve more than just a right angle.

N.B. Angle drivers or drill attachments should not be confused with right-angle drill drivers. Right-angle drill drivers are complete power drills. It is a power tool rather than an attachment for a power tool.

Top 3 Angle Drivers you need in 2022.

Undoubtedly the top 3 Angle Drivers you need in 2022 are DART's Original, Mini and Flexible Angle Drivers, and the reasons are clear.

Zinc Alloy Housing

A vast number of Angle Drivers currently available on the UK market feature a plastic housing unit that doesn't give the durability and long service life that is available with DART's range.

Compact

DART's Angle Drivers have been designed with size in mind. Their remarkably compact size allows access to very tight spaces.

Handle

All 3 Angle Drivers feature a handle for extra leverage and support. Many Angle Drivers on the market do not feature a handle which tends to make them more challenging to use in some applications.

There are situations where space doesn't allow a handle – this is why it is removable on the mini and flexible and can be adjusted to 0° on the Original Premium Angle Driver.

With DART's range, you can experience the best of both worlds.

Strongest on the market.

The Original Angle Driver is the strongest on the market. At 57Nm you can be sure of a very robust and well-built Angle Driver.
